In the event of a lighting failure (whether it be caused by a power cut or an on-site problem) emergency lighting will reduce the risk of injury. This is particularly important in areas where there is no natural light or any change of level. It will also help in sorting out the cause of the problem and reduce the fire risk associated with the use of candles etc.
Please note that emergency lighting should be tested periodically. (See Schedule of Maintenance).
