Energy Efficient Lamps

Energy efficient lighting is here to stay and offers significant benefits. As with any developing technology the products currently available eclipse their predecessors and it is important to keep up to date so that the products chosen do the job as well as possible.

Unfortunately very few of us see the full range available and many people who have tried compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s) complain about them – usually because the lamps chosen have not been the right ones for the job.

As the government is planning to phase out the ordinary “light bulb” over a period of time it is important to look thoroughly at the alternatives and we can help you do this. In addition to the CFL’s already mentioned significant developments have been made with other products.

Here are some of the questions you need to be asking when choosing a new type of lamp;

A – Ask Yourself

  1. How often is the light used ?
  2. How long does it stay on ?
  3. Do I need to be able to dim it?
  4. Do I need it to be at full brightness immediately ?
  5. Am I prepared to change the light fitting ?

B – Ask Us About Options To Meet Your Needs

  1. Energy consumption
  2. Maintenance of light output during the life of the lamp
  3. Lamp life
  4. Cost/pay back time
